Member Extensions

All members are given extensions in the range 8000-8999. All member extensions are publicly available by SIP or IAX2. For example, to reach Ryan, you can dial 8000 via the main menu (0), you can call sip:8000@pbx.colobox.com, or you can call iax:guest@pbx.colobox.com/8000.

Notes:

• From the main menu, you can dial any extension marked as "Public", but cannot reach any extension marked as "Colobox PBX account holders". To reach those extensions, dial them directly from your Colobox PBX account.
• Transfers in the directory are currently broken, rendering extension 6006 effectively useless at the moment.
• You can append an extension to 6000 and 6008. For example, if your phone client has a configurable "check voicemail" button, you can set it to 6000XXXX, where XXXX is your extension. If you want to transfer an in-progress call directly to your extension (or someone else's), transfer it to 6008XXXX.
• Extension 6008 is expected to dynamically go directly to the transferer's voicemail, but that does not seem possible at this time. For now, transfer to 6008XXXX. 6008 directly will return an error.

Notes:

• Dialing any 900 number will play an audio file of a sexy woman asking what you are wearing. Then you are transferred to a conference, most likely populated by hairy, fat 40-year-old men. It's just like a real 900 number, but doesn't cost you $2.99 per minute.

Network Prefixes

Networks can be accessed directly by using a network prefix. For example, to dial the Free World Dialup echo test, dial 6501,613.

Notes:

• Some SIP clients do not work correctly when there is an asterisk ("*") in a dialed number. SIP Broker's first digit is an asterisk, so including the asterisk after the 6503 prefix is optional. For example, the SIP Broker test line can be reached from Colobox as either 6503,*011-1-88888 or 6503,011-1-88888.

PSTN Dial-In

If you wish to dial in, dial any number on this page. Then, dial *8385-0 for the Colobox voice menu (or any public extension; for example *8385-8000 for Ryan, or *8385-6004 for hold music).

Get an Account

Note: This is not a "consumer" service. With the exception of toll-free numbers, you don't get outgoing VoIP PSTN service.
