Pacific Bell is dead.
Nevada Bell is gone.
Southwestern Bell is kaput.
Ameritech is no more.
and now... AT&T is but a memory.

(Doesn't this sound familiar?)

All heil Ma Bell, err, I mean SBC!

"It's money. So use it."

<j0no> Are they trying to replace the American one dollar bill with that coin, or what? Because they seem to be doing a really bad job of it, if that's the case.
<fo0bar> I think they gave up long ago, considering the golden dollar was introduced in the late 90s
<j0no> ok
<fo0bar> and I've personally seen about 3 total
<j0no> because like, that site seems to be saying "It's money, you fuckholes!"

Holy 1992, Batman!

I used TheDRAW (an ANSI editor) today.

I used it because today I switched my laptop's root partition over to dm-crypt encryption, and wanted to have a pretty/useful introduction before the password is asked for in the initrd. ANSI colors to the rescue!

The odd thing is, 20 minutes after I downloaded and started playing with TheDRAW, there was a slashdot article that mentioned ANSI art.

  • @frankenspock More info about the Prius Bonneville test. Engine was "stock" mechanically, but yes, many more mods. http://ur1.ca/p9z0
  • @frankenspock Haha, yes. That car could totally beat even an out of control Prius.
  • @frankenspock Wait, that may have been Nissan. I think they were testing a Z when they said that.
  • @frankenspock Top Gear says Japanese Toyota performance cars' limiters disengage if they detect they're on a race track. Interesting if true
  • @frankenspock Of course I can't prove this, and the tires on 1st gen were S rated (112MPH), but my speedo said 119.
