Here's the closest I'll probably ever get to seeing Sherrod naked:

Well, that is until pdx6 decides to share that video with me...

23:02 < fo0bar> working at a datacenter sucks, it distorts your view of reality
23:03 < fo0bar> I plugged in my tivo to the network (the tivo was disconnected
from the net for about a week, so it started whining at me
about not having much guide data left)
23:03 < fo0bar> so a thought popped in: what volume of data would come through
on a full guide update?
23:04 < fo0bar> the answer: set up MRTG to monitor the switchport that the tivo
is plugged into
23:04 < fo0bar> then I snapped back into reality and realized I did *NOT* have
a $1k managed switch at home
23:05 < fo0bar> granted, I also occasionally try to use my badge card on my car
and wonder why it's not unlocking the door

I'm going to the Nugget later tonight to celebrate the Feast of Maximum Occupancy, but I'm slightly hungry now. So I took stock of my house:

2 bags of microwave popcorn, circa 2000 (never buy popcorn for 1 from costco)
6 boxes of kraft mac-n-cheese, circa 2000 (ditto... why didn't I throw these away when I moved to nevada?)
1/4 box of grape nuts, circa a couple weeks ago
1/2 container chai tea, circa last september (I think it'll go bad after a month or so after being opened...)
Frozen coffee grounds, circa April (I don't drink coffee, but at one point I thought it necessary to buy a coffee maker and coffee)
4 cans Diet Pepsi, circa a couple days ago

So I made popcorn. And guess what:

Yes, microwave popcorn CAN go bad.

Not so much bad, but stale-ish... the popcorn is about half of its normal size, and the butter didn't stick to the popcorn or something, so when you pour it into a bowl, you get a nice stream of liquid artery-clogging goo first.

So now I'm munching on grape nuts.

A police helicopter has been searching an area of southwest Reno for the last couple hours, between Kietzke and Plumas, S. McCarran and Davis.  Wonder what's going on...

I don't know what's more eerie...  the fact that there are police helicopters in the air almost all the time, or that they're painted black (no, really!)

In an effort to make me feel more important, I'm making my livejournal "friends only". If you want to read my journal, send me a dollar and a photo of a naked celebrity, taken between 1982 and 1986.

  • @majnoona Wait, why aren't you having Pad Thai? That seems wholly inferior to actually having Pad Thai.
  • @frankenspock I don't like medical programs.
  • I'm really starting to dig Holmes on Homes. Yes, it's an HGTV show. I'm not sure how I found it because I never watch HGTV. Never.
